Methods:

The APX-200 is a novel disposable pupillary expanding device. Two devices are inserted through two opposite 19G cornel incisions to create a clinically comfortable pupil dilation.

Results:

Operations were done in complicated cases including: pseudoexfoliation syndrome, uveitic cataract, mature and hypermature cataracts, intraoperative floppy iris synd (IFIS), lens coloboma , scleral fixated glued IOL. Complex cases included cataract surgery combined with pars plana vitrectomy or management of subluxated lenses using capsule stabilizing device. All operations were successfully performed and no device related complications were noted.
