Abstract Details

Purpose:

To discuss whether there is a good, easy and accurate method in the IOL calculation of patients with age related cataract following iris-fixated PIOL implantation.

Setting:

Polikliniek Oogheelkunde Sint-Truiden.

Methods:

We studied 67 patients (103 eyes) who had undergone an iris-fixation PIOL implantation since 1991 and who developed age-related cataract afterwards. We studied preoperative and postoperative BCVA, UCVA, refraction, etc.

Results:

In our experience, we have good results with these patients and use a simple and accurate technique to calculate the power of the IOL for cataract surgery.

Conclusions:

After iris-fixated PIOL implantation, there is an easy and accurate calculation possible for cataract surgery with these patients.
