Purpose:
To assess new presbyopic Supracor algorithm with excimer laser regarding the clinical outcome and patient satisfaction.
Setting:
Swiss Eye Research Foundation, Eye Clinic ORASIS, Reinach AG, Switzerland and VIDAR-ORASIS Swiss, Novi Sad, Serbia.
Methods:
Performance of the multifocal presbyopic algorithm are evaluated prospective in 30 cases regarding the clinical outcome and patient satisfaction. For the LASIK cut a high repetition rate femtosecond laser were used with a target flap thickness of 110μm. All patients were hyperopic and minimum 50 years old.
Results:
After 6 months of treatment 10.9% of cases win 1 line of visual acuity, 4.3% loss 1 line and 84.8% remain stable, it is said that 100% of cases has an uncorrected far visual acuity of 0.8 and 94% of 1.0. The binocular uncorrected near visual acuity were in 95.7% 0.63 or better, in 91% 0.8 or better and 82% 1.0 or better. After 6 months, the subjective overall vision compared with preoperative were same in 17.4% and better in 82.6%, the night vision were same in 69.6%, worse in 13% and better in 17.4%.
Conclusions:
The multifocal corneal procedure is a new presbyopic treatment algorithm which leads to very good results for hyperopic patients.
