Purpose:
We present results after refractive lens exchange with implantation of AT LISA tri 839MP intraocular lens to presbyopic patients.
Setting:
University Eye Hospital “Svjetlost”, Zagreb, Croatia
Methods:
Twenty two patients underwent bilateral AT LISA tri 839MP implantation (44 eyes) after clear lens extraction. Patients were presbyopes, 20 hypermetropes and two myopes, between 46 and 68 years. Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UCDVA), uncorrected intermediate visual acuity at 80 cm (UCIVA), uncorrected near visual acuity (UCNVA), uncorrected distance visual acuity under 10% contrast level, visual disturbances and subjective satisfaction were measured. Follow up was at least six months.
Results:
All patients achieved monocular UCDVA better than 0.8, (77,3% patients 1.0). Monocular UCIVA better than 0.63 achieved 97.7% patients (36,4% patients 1.0). J2 and better could read all patients (68,18% patients J1). UCDVA under 10% contrast level was also excellent, 63.6% of patients can read 1.0. Halo and glare were reported in 20% of patients, there was no need for Nd YAG laser capsulotomy or LASIK/PRK enhancement. Spherical equivalent was less than 0.5D in all patients and all of them would implant the same lens again.
Conclusions:
Refractive lens exchange with implantation of ATLISA tri 839MP enables good vision at all distances and spectale independence. It is excellent choice for younger, active presbyopes who have need for good intermediate vision.
