Abstract Details
Purpose:
To compare scheimpflug camera and placido disc topography measurements after allograft corneal implants with a 20 µm thickness for presbyopia.
Setting:
Istanbul Medipol University School of Medicine, Ophthalmology Department, Istanbul, Turkey
Methods:
All surgery went uneventful and all corneas were clear at the 3 month follow-up period. Pentacam and iDesign demonstrated anterior corneal power increase in all patients after surgery.
Results:
Changes in mean keratometric values were 0.45 ±0.57 D with Pentacam and 1.81 ±1.29 D with iDesign (P<0.05). There was statistically significant difference change in keratometric values between scheimpflug camera and placido disc topography after 20 micron corneal lenticule implantation.
Conclusions:
iDesign showed a significant increase in keratometric values than Pentacam. In our study iDesign was found to be more sensitive in measuring changes in keratometric values after implantation of presbyopia lenticule.
