Abstract Details
Purpose:
compare biometric anterior segment data including Steep Keratometry , flat keratometry, astigmatism , anterior chamber depth, central corneal thickness, using the rotating sheimpflug camera pentacam oculus and lenstar LS 900 haag straight, hence to access the repeatability or not between these devices.
Setting:
Department of Ophthalmology, Omar idrissi hospital, Hassan II hospital university center, fes , maroc
Methods:
Thirty-four patients have been enrolled in this the study (age>16 years old), hence total of Sixty eight eye were analyzed, all patients have benefited from full ophthalmic examination. Analyze of anterior segment data have been done with the pentacam and the lenstar LS 900 (, Steep K, flat k, astigmatism, anterior chamber depth, central corneal thickness). Statistical analysis were assessed by SPSS using Z test.
Results:
The results using the pentacam; mean steep k is43,861 ±1,62; mean flat k is 42,73 ±1,16,mean astigmatism is 1,14±0,77, mean central corneal thickness is 541,61±31,35; mean anterior chamber depth is 3,16±0,41.
The results using the Lenstar LS 900 ; mean steep k is 44,05± 1,70; mean flat k is 42,90±1,25, mean astigmatism is 1,22±0,86, mean central corneal thickness is 539,84±34,14; mean anterior chamber depth is 3,06±0,43.
No significant differences were found all parameter, flak k (p=0,4) , steep k(p=0,51) , astigmatism(p=0,39), anterior chamber depth(p=0,12), central corneal thickness(p=0,51).
Conclusions:
In conclusion, our data suggest that the Pentacam and Lenstar LS 900 have good concordance and can be used interchangeably to measure biometric anterior chamber data.
