Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the number of the endothelial cells and the position in iridocorneal angle 5 years after implantation of supracilliary micro-stent

Setting:

Augenklinik Cam Germany

Methods:

The study included  46 eyes which were implanted with supracilliary micro stent in 2010 -2013, 5 to 9 years ago. The number of the endothelial cells was evaluated  and the position of Cypass in iridocorneal angel was observed ,

Results:

42 eyes  ranged from 1900-2800, 4 eyes were between 1200 to 1400. 1 eye showed malposition of the supracilliary stent : 3 rings were visible. In the other three eyes, there was only collar and one retention ring visible.

Conclusions:

6 % of eyes implanted with supraciliary stent showed enothelial cell loss ,2 % connected with malposition after 5 years or longer, This group of patients is too small to allow any final assessment of the enothelial cell loss after implantation of supracilliary stent.
