Abstract Details
Purpose:
To report the outcomes of 422 cataract surgery realised by ophtalmic surgeon in mobil unit in rural arreas of Morocco.
Setting:
The Moroccan Medical Association of solidarity is a collectif of medical and non medical personnes that gives médical traitement to population in need.
Methods:
We realised 422 surgery for age releated cataract in Mobile Unit Between July 2019 to September 2019.
The main visual outcomes was presenting visual acuity 1-4 weeks after surgery classified accordind to the WHO as good(PVA >6/18),borderline (PVA 6/60-6/18) and poor (PVA<6/60) .
Results:
We included 422 eyes of 422 patients,the mean age was 61,2 years (45,3 females).At 1 –4 weeks after surgery ,the surgical outcomes was good for 322 patients (76%) borderline for 88 patients (20,8%) and poor for (2,84%).
Conclusions:
Cataract surgery by mobile unit can be an alternative way to compensate medical deficit in rural area of low income and middle income.
