Abstract Details
Purpose:
To Validate IOL power using Optiwave Refractive Analysis
(ORA) system & compare it with conventional IOL power
calculation methods
Setting:
Place of Study – Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic
Sciences,AIIMS
Hypothesis : IOL power calculation using ORA system is non inferior as compared to conventional methods.
Methods:
Observational comparative studyPrimary outcomes-
Residual refractive error & prediction error using ORA as well as conventional
IOL power calculation methods & their comparison
To compare residual refractive error in different axial length
groups(22-24.5;24.5-26;>26) using ORA vs conventional methods.
Results:
IOLMaster & ORA predicted same IOL power in 87% of the cases.
SRK II & IOLMaster predicted same IOL power in 69% of the cases.
SRK II & IOLMaster predicted same IOL power in 59% of the cases.
Significant difference(p value-<0.05) between mean IOL power calculated by SRK II & other two methods(ORA & IOLMaster)
No significant difference(p value->0.05) between mean IOL power calculated by ORA & IOLMaster
Conclusions:
ORA is non inferior to conventional methods of IOL power calculation in all axial lengths
