Handling of occasional FemtoLASIK complications

Abstract Details

Purpose:

Illustrate possible rare complications of Femto-Lasik surgery.

Setting:

Ac.S.N. Fyodorov Federal State Institution �â�€�œEye Microsurgery Complex�â�€� of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation, Novosibirsk branch�â�€�, address: 10 Kolhidskaya str., 630096, Novosibirsk, Russia.

Methods:

All operations carried out on the excimer laser Technolas 217Z100 (Baush&Lomb) and femtosecond laser Femtec 520F (Perfect Vision).

Results:

This poster presents 4 cases of Femto-Lasik complications.1- Local haze 1 day postop, 1 month postop ( Photo 1,2).2- Unknown etiology keratitis 1 day postop, 3 month postop. Infiltration in the projection of the interface�â�€�™s edge of the patient (Photo 3,4,5).3- Gas bubbles in the anterior chamber. Complete resorption after 1 day (Photo 6).4- Epithelial ingrowth after 18 month postop ( Photo 7,8).

Conclusions:

In all cases we had a good outcomes with maximum visual acuity. In the case of epithelial ingrowth surgical removal had being required.
