Abstract Details
Purpose:
To analyze de differences in contrast sensibility examinations between patients with AMO Tecnis Aspheric Toric ZCTT IOL and AMO Tecnis 1 ZCB00 IOL after cataract surgery.
Setting:
Hospital Nuestra SeÃ±ora de Gracia (Zaragoza, Spain)
Methods:
13 patients (26 eyes) were included for the toric group and 40 patients (74 eyes) formed the control group.Inclusion criteria for the toric group were: Patients under 90 years old diagnosed with cataract, with corneal astigmatism between 1.5-6 Dp.Exclusion criteria were: Any ophthalmic or systemic disease, irregular corneal astigmatism. The inclusion criteria for the control group were: Patients under 90 years old diagnosed with cataract, with corneal astigmatism under 1Dp.The exclusion criteria were: Any ophthalmic or systemic disease.Contrast sensibility was evaluated under photopic and mesopic conditions ( glare) with Pelli Robson and CSV 1000 tests.
Results:
Contrast sensibility was evaluated monocular and binocular under photopic and mesopic conditions ( glare) with Pelli Robson and CSV 1000 tests in both groups. Bonferroni correction test was performed. No statistically significative differences (p value >0.05) were found between the two groups of patients.
Conclusions:
There are no statistically significative differences in the contast sensibility between pacients with AMO Tecnis Toric ZCTT Aspheric IOL and AMO Tecnis 1 ZCB00 IOL after cataract surgery.
