Visual performance with long-term follow-up after Mini WELL intraocular lens (IOL) implantation

Abstract Details

Purpose:

Long- term clinical evaluation of Mini WELL

Setting:

Ophthalmic Clinic of Policlinico Di Bari, University of Bari, Bari, Italy

Methods:

22 month follow up of patients that underwent cataract surgery was evaluated. All patients received binocular implantation of the progressive extended depth of focus (Mini WELL, Sifi, Italy). Subjective refraction, CDVA, UDVA, UIVA, DCIVA, UNVA and DCNVA, monocular and binocular were evaluated. Additionally contrast sensitivity, defocus curve analysis and Halos test were performed. The rate of PCO was valuteted.

Results:

22 month postoperative UDVA, UIVA and UNVA was conservated. The defocus curve shows a plateau in the from distance to intermediate. The patient satisfaction was very high.

Conclusions:

The Long-Term Follow-Up of patients implanted with Mini Well shows good visual performance for all distances evaluated, stability of the IOL, low rate of PCO.
