Abstract Details
Purpose:
To measure uncorrected distance, intermediate and near visual acuity one year from bilateral WIOL-CF polyfocal bioanalogic lens implantation in Slovakia
Setting:
Retrospective analysis of nonrandomized single case series, patients operated by two surgeons (authors) at two sites - OÄnÃ© oddelenie, FakultnÃ¡ nemocnica s poliklinikou Å½ilina and FakultnÃ¡ nemocnica TrenÄÃn, Slovakia.
Methods:
64 eyes in 32 cataract surgery patients (30 eyes) were assigned to have bilateral implantation of WIOL-CF polyfocal bioanalogic lens (MEDICEM Technology s.r.o., Czech Republic) in the capsular bag. The main study outcomes were assessed at 3, 6 and 12 month follow-up visit and included uncorrected distance, intermediate (70cm) and near (40cm) visual acuity.
Results:
At 12 months, UCDVA was 0,04 (SD 0,09) logMAR, UCIVA 0,17 (SD 0,09) and UCNVA 0,23(SD 0,1).
Conclusions:
Cataract extraction with binocular WIOL-CF polyfocal bioanalogic lens implantation provides spectacle free vision on all distances.
