Analysis of vault and correlative factors after V4c-ICL Implantation

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the postoperative vault of the posterior chamber phakic implantable Collamer Lens with a central hole (V4c-ICL) implantation.

Methods:

the study retrospectively analyzed 249 eyes of 128 patients underwent V4c-ICL implantation. The patients�â�€�™ average age was 24.25�Â�±7.67 years, preoperative white to white distance (WTW), anterior chamber depth (ACD), anterior chamber angle, horizontal and vertical sulcus to sulcus distance (STS), crystalline lens thickness, postoperative vault and anterior chamber angle at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after the implantation were recorded.

Results:

Postoperative vault at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after the implantation was 464�Â�±185 um, 468�Â�±216 um, 457�Â�±201 um and 415�Â�±230 um�ï�¼�Œranged from 150-11300um. No eyes had an inadequate vault of less than 90 um, 209 eyes (83%) had a vault between 250 um and 750 um, 3 eyes (1%) had a vault of more than 1000 um (considered excessive). ICL position modification was conducted in 25.7% eyes. Anterior chamber angle at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months after the implantation was 23.88�Â�±4.45, 23.37�Â�±4.36 and 23.09�Â�±4.59. There were no complications occurred in this group.

Conclusions:

Ideal vault achievement was greatly related to WTW distance, ACD, STS and crystalline lens thickness, it�â�€�™s crucial for ICL�â�€�™s long-term safety.
