Abstract Details
Purpose:
Evaluate corneal ASTR and compare to attempted in consecutive cases of myopic Smile.
Setting:
LaserVision.gr Clinical and Research Eye Institute, Athens, Greece
Methods:
In 62 myopic Smile eyes (43 patients), anterior segment OCT 3D mapping of stroma and epithelium documented the STR at 3 months. ASTR was compared to the maximum PSTR and correlated with residual refractive error.
Results:
Mean ASTR was 81.91 Â± 19.79 Âµm, vs. the mean RSTR of 103.06 Â± 22.05 Âµm. The attempted versus achieved thickness outliers correlated with deviations of refractive correction from planned and appeared higher that our previous reported LASIK cases in myopias > 6 Diopters.
Conclusions:
ASTR in Smile shows statistically under-corrections in higher myopic corrections attempted.
