Abstract Details
Purpose:
To determine the efficacy and safety of Selective laser trabeculoplasty(SLT) for glaucoma patients with history of LASIK or LASEK.
Setting:
Yonsei Plus Eye Center
Methods:
Consecutive glaucomatous adults underwent SLT(Lumenis Selecta) on one or both eyes applying 360 degree treatment of 120 to 140 closely spaced burns(400um spot size for 3 ns; range 1.1 -1.4 mJ). SLT was performed inferiorly for 6 h and then added SLT performed superiorly for 6 h, 1 week later. Complete slit lamp biomicroscopy, visual acuity, IOP, gonioscopy, and mydriatic funduscopy were performed pre-and posttreatment for 9 months.
Significance of change in intraocular pressure(IOP) from baseline at 1,3,6, 9 months was assessed by two-tailed paired t-test.
Results:
17 eyes of 10 patients with open angle glaucoma were enrolled, Age (47years), male:female ratio
4:6. IOP decreased from 14.2 to 11.3 mmHg 1 week after SLT(inferior 180 degrees). Six months later A, IOP was stable at 12 mmHg, and No serious complication was observed.
Conclusions:
SLT was effective in producing clinically significant IOP reduction among glaucoma patients with or without prior corneal refractive surgery. But longer follow up and more patients data collection are needed.
