Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate the results of femto phacoemulsification of cataract with bilateral implantation of multifocal IOLs of various ADD power.
Setting:
. There were 38 patients (76 eyes, mean age 63.4 Â± 2.8 years) who underwent implantation of the AcrySof ReSTOR IQ IOL (Alcon, USA) with an ADD power of .5 D to the dominant eye (model 'SV25T0') and .0 D (model 'SN6AD1') into the non-dominant eye.
Methods:
Femto laser assistance was carried out by using a femtosecond laser Ziemer FEMTO LDVZ 8. Phacoemulsification was performed on Stellaris PC Vision Enhancement system (Bausch Lomb, USA). Preoperative visual acuity was up to 0.5 of p.l.c. (proectio lucis certa) with correction.
Results:
The uncorrected distance binocular visual acuity (UDBVA) on the first day after the surgery for the second eye was 0.7 and higher in 84.2% of patients, distance of 40 cm 0.5 and above in 76.3%, average distance (60-70 cm) 0.5 and higher in 78.9%. In further 1 month follow-up there was an increase in UDBVA at the distance of 0.9-1.0 in 89.5% cases. In 1,3 and 6 months the UDBVA at a distance of 40 cm was 0.6 and higher in 81.6% of patients and at a distance of 60-70 cm 0.6 and above in 78.9%.
Conclusions:
Femto-laser assisted cataract phacoemulsification combined with bilateral implantation of multifocal lenses Acrysof IQ Restor 2.5 D in dominant eye and Acrysof IQ Restor .0 D in non-dominant eye allows to increase the range of high indices of distant, near and medium distance uncorrected visual acuity .
