Abstract Details

Purpose:

To present intra and postoperative complications occurred in my practice during refractive ReLEx Smile procedure.

Setting:

Medical Center 'MAVIT' Warsaw, Poland

Methods:

Retrospective analyse of intra and postoperative complications that occurred in my practice during ReLEx Smile procedure from December 2013. ReLEx Smile was made with VISUMAX - femtosecond laser from Carl Zeiss Meditec. Statistics and video films will be presented.

Results:

My intraoperative complications were: difficulty with docking, missing anterior plane - dissection of posterior plane as the first, cutting of limbal vessels- bleeding into the pocket, erosions near incision, tearing of incision, difficulty of dissection, tearing of lenticule. My postoperative complications: oedema of the cup, DLK near incision, dry eye, under and overcorrection, epithelial ingrowth.

Conclusions:

ReLEx Smile is a good refractive procedure. Complications are rare and can be handle.
