Abstract Details

Purpose:

For a phaco surgeon to achieve a rhexis gives him a sense of relief.But the tips and clues to perform a rhexis and a well centred rhexis by using various situations as tools to arrive at a good artificial rhexis is shared in my video.

Setting:

This procedure was done in Mahathama Eye Hospital,Tennur,Trichy,Tamilnadu,Southindia.

Methods:

This video demonstrates various methodologies as rhexis marker to perform good rhexis.The 4.75 millimetre diameter rhexis marker leaves an impression on the cornea is used as a guide to do good rhexis on anterior lens capsule.A mid dilated pupil and its pupilary margin used as rhexis marker for optimal size and circular rhexis.PXF material deposited on anterior lens capsule is used as one more marker.The Bubble used in the tryphan blue is used as a marker too.In a very small pupil less than 4millimetre, a rhexis is performed beneath the pupil, where the iris crypts acts like a marker.

Results:

Good rhexis is important in placing well centred intra ocular lens in Multifocal or Toric and Toric Multifocal.

Conclusions:

To visualise various tools as a rhexis marker takes us towards precision in performing rhexis over a period of time.This is a precursor for excellent visual outcome.
