Abstract Details
Purpose:
To report our experience and evaluate visual outcomes as well as any complications of implanting a novel sutureless scleral-fixated IOL.
Setting:
University of Ottawa Eye Institute
Methods:
This is a case series study that will be conducted at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute. Five to ten patients with compromised or absent lens capsule will be included in the study to undergo an implantation of sutureless scleral-fixated IOL (Carlevale Lensâ¢, Soleko, Rome, Italy). Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), and IOP will be measured pre-operatively and at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months post-operatively. Intraoperative and post-operative complications will also be reported.
Results:
Pre- and post-operative measures including UDVA, BCVA and IOP will be reported. Surgical videos will be included in the presentation, showing the advantages, disadvantages, and surgical pearls of using this technique.
Conclusions:
Will be determined upon completion of the study.
