Comparison of corneal horizontal diameter measured by different measurements

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To compare the accuracy of pentacam、keratograph 4、IOL Master and manualcaliper in measured corneal horizontal diameter,and refer the clinical references.

Setting:

WuhanAier Eye Hospital,Wuhan,China

Methods:

The corneal horizontal diameter was measured in 160 eyes of 80 patients using pentacam、newly developed corneal topographer、IOL Master and manualcaliper,each measurement was repeated three times ,the results were compared

Results:

The corneal horizontal diameter measured by pentacam、newly developed corneal topographer、and manualcaliper were （11.58 ±0.29）mm、（11.48 ±0.37）mm、（11.52 ±0.36）mm,there were no significant difference between the three measurement (all P＞0.05). the corneal horizontal diameter measured by IOL Master was （11.85 ±0.33）mm, there were significant difference between the IOL Master and the other three measurements(all P＜0.05)

Conclusions:

Pentacam、newly developed corneal topographer、and manualcaliper can be interchanged for corneal horizontal diameter.But the corneal horizontal diameter measured by IOL Master is longer.
