Abstract Details
Purpose:
Comparison of 3 multifocal IOL for refractive surgery to determine which one is the more valuable for the patient.
Setting:
We have implanted 52 patients for refractive surgery with Alcon Restor 2.5, Zeiss trifocal 839, and AMO Symfony.
Centre Hospitalier de la Haute Gironde, Blaye, France
Methods:
104 eyes have been studied, patients between 50 and 62 years old, with best non corrected AV , best distance reading AV, best intermediate AV, best corrected AV. We also have compared halos and glare, comfort in each situation of daily life through a form filled by each patient. We have set defocus curves for each IOL.
Results:
Zeiss trifocal has excellent results for far and reading vision but often receives complains for night halos. Restor 2.5 has good results for far and intermediate vision without halos but needs an improvement for reading vision, Mix and match tecnis with add 2.75/3.25 is a good compromise for long/intermediate/reading vision with acceptable halos.
Conclusions:
Prelex is a customized surgery and we have to determine needs of our patients to select the best IOL.
