Abstract Details
Purpose:
To assess the repeatibility of an objective image - analysis technique to determine intraocular lens (IOL ) rotation and centration
Setting:
Private practice in an accademic affiliated setting.Centro Oftalmológico del Bages, Barcelona, Spain
Methods:
Eyes with an 560 Model Precizon Monofocal with orientation mark were imaged, the eyes were assessed postoperatively using the NIDEK OPD Scan III (NIDEK Co Ltd.) through toric summary display. The axis of rotation was determined from a line bisecting the IOL orientation marks. Intersession reapeatability was assessed at day 1, day 7 and day 30.
Results:
: At final follow-up, 95.3% of eyes showed an uncorrected visual acuity of 20/25 or better. The mean rotation of the IOL was 3.45±2.39 degrees at final follow-up. No lens in any eye exhibited IOL rotation of more than 07 degrees
Conclusions:
Early postoperative and short-term follow-up showed that implantation of the Precizon IOL design is an effective, safe, and predictable platform for a Toric IOL design to correct corneal astigmatism in cataract patient. OPD Scan III is a valuable tool for IOL with orientation mark assesment.
