Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate the changes in angle parameters after implantation of implantable collamer lenses with central hole (STAAR Surgical) in myopic patients.
Setting:
Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Methods:
This was prospective, observational study. This study included 14 eyes of 7 patients with myopia. ICL with Centralflow iol was implanted with 3.2 clear corneal incision in both eyes of all patients. Preoperative and postoperative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), mean refractive spherical equivalent (MRSE), specular count, intraocular pressure (IOP), angle opening distance at 500µm & 750 µm from scleral spur (AOD500 and AOD750), trabecular iris angle(TIA) and postoperative central vault were noted.
Results:
Mean age was 23.14 + 3 with female predominance (85%). Mean refractive spherical equivalent was -9.79 + 3.54 diapters (D). Postoperative UCVA improved in all eyes compared to preoperative UCVA which was statistically significant (p<0.001). At 3 months, mean postoperative central vault was 613.71+ 120. There was no statistically significant change in IOP at 3 months compared to before surgery (p=0.823). Changes in AOD500, AOD750 and TIA were noted at 1 week, 1 month and 3 months after surgery compared to before surgery. This change in AOD500, AOD750 and TIA was statistically significant (p =0.001).
Conclusions:
Change in AOD500, AOD750 and TIA are noted after ICL with central flow implantation.
