Abstract Details

Purpose:

A study of dicloptin in Lasek Surgery to decrase pain and to delay in epitelium formation.

Setting:

A study of dicloptin in Lasek Surgery to decrase pain and to delay in epitelium formation.

Methods:

There are 2 groups in this study as folloes: Group A includes 40 patients and Group B too. Totally, there were 80 patients in this study. Dicloptin drop was advised to group A after surgery and then studied the level of pain decreasing and epitelium formation as well. Placebo drop was advised to group B after surgery and then studied the level of pain decreasing and epitelium formation as well. The results are shown in the following table:

Results:

As the results show , decreasing pain by dicloptin drop after Lasek Surgery is obvious. But a delay in epitelium formation is it’s disadvantage . More over , the pain in 11 patients with placebo decreased.

Conclusions:

Dicloptin drop just once or twice at 24 hours after surgery will decrease pain but more than twice will delay epitelium formation. However , it’s recommanded that NSAID application oral pain killers is more better than dicloptin drop.
