Abstract Details
Purpose:
to evaluate two years visual outcome after LASIK and PRK performed with a new Microscan 500 Hz excimer laser guided by wave front, connected to L 80 Wave Visionix aberrometer.
Setting:
International Center for Ophthalmology, Moscow, Russia
Methods:
study included 128 eyes of 68 patients divided into 5 groups:1Mild (45 eyes ), 2.Advanced ( 49 eyes) 3.High myopia (7 eyes),4.Mixed astigmatism (13 eyes), 5.Irregular astigmatism (7 eyes) after Lasik procedure, assisted with Morea Evolution IIIE microkeratome for flap creation of 100 (40 eyes) and 130 ( 88 eyes ) mk thickness,and after PRK with Mitomycin C in case of irregular astigmatism after previously performed keratorefractive surgery.Average age was 32 y.o. Standard pre op examinations:BCVA,BUCVA,autorefractometry, IOP,AXL with IOL-master,topography, pachimetry and aberrometry with Visionix L80 Wave Front (Lineau).Mean high-order aberrations (Zernike coefficient unit) were measured in all of the group.
Results:
All patients have achieved desired refractive target. In case of Lasik 20/20 UDVA post op was gained in three groups with mild, advanced and high myopia . 20/25 UDVA was gained in group with mixed astigmatism. Average 20/50 UDVA and 20/30 BCVA was gained after PRK in group with irregular astigmatism. Mean high-order aberrations were decreased in group with mild myopia. Complications: 5 patients complained “dry eye” post op, low haze after PRK was noticed in 2 patients ( 4 eyes) without loss of visual acuity, one patient complained diplopia due to mild astigmatism post op and additional laser correction was successfully performed after flap revision .
Conclusions:
1.Customised LASIK and PRK performed with Microscan 500 Hz excimer laser (NanoVision Group, UK) connected to L80 Wave ( Visionix Luneau, France) aberrometer showes high UDVA, efficacy, safety, predictability and stability of refractive results.
2.Using new Microscan 500 Hz excimer laser (NanoVision Group,UK) connected to L80 Wave ( Visionix Luneau France) aberrometer with PlatoscanTM surgery calculated map let to achieve high precision of calculations.
