Abstract Details
Purpose:
To demonstrate key integrative advances in intraoperative optical coherence tomography (iOCT) technology that will facilitate the ophthalmic surgery.
Setting:
The study was done at Universitary and Politechnic Hospital La Fe.
Methods:
We performed sequential intraoperative AS-OCT scans using iVue 100-2 (Optovue, Fremont, CA, USA) during cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery.
Results:
High-resolution images were successfully obtained with the iOCT system. Excellent visualization of both the underlying tissues and surgical instrument were achieved on OCT cross-section. The OCT helped to assess the location of the corneal incisions and guided the placement of XEN implant (XEN gel stent, Aquesys).
Conclusions:
Significant iterative improvements in integrative technology related to iOCT and ophthalmic surgery are demonstrated.
