Abstract Details
Purpose:
Assess the level of optical aberrations after corneal collagen crosslinking (CCC) in the treatment of progressive keratoconus.
Setting:
The study included 35 patients (35 eyes) after the modified technique of corneal collagen crosslinking in the treatment of progressive keratoconus.
Methods:
By modified procedure CCC deepithelization was carried out using an excimer laser, "Schwind Amaris," (Germany) according to the OCT of the cornea.
Results:
Before surgery coma was equal to 2,94 ± 0,39 microns, and 12 months after surgery – 1,75 ± 0,5 microns (t = 2,9 p<0,05). Preoperative value of the spherical aberration is equal to 0,56 ± 0,09 microns, and 12 months after surgery – 0,28 ± 0,09 microns (t = 2,2; p<0,05).
Conclusions:
The modified procedure of corneal collagen crosslinking reduces the optical aberrations of higher order.
