Abstract Details
Purpose:
To report a case treated by OlogenTM transplantation combined with AMT and conjunctival flap in a patient with impending corneal perforation.
Setting:
Department of Ophthalmology
Fatima Hospital, Daegu, South Korea
Methods:
In a patient with impending corneal perforation(size : 2mm diameter, location : superior cornea at the direction of 12 o’clock) which shows leakage of aqueous humor, OlogenTM was transplanted on the surface showing descematocele and aqueous humor leakage. Amniotic membrane and superior bulbar conjunctiva was covered on the OlogenTM. An additive AMT was performed to fill the conjunctival defect.
Results:
After OlogenTM transplantation combined with AMT and conjunctival flap, the wound was stable without leakage of aqueous humor for postoperative 6 months.
Conclusions:
As well as on sclera surface, collagen matrix(OlogenTM) is a good material for tectonic support on the surface of cornea.
