Abstract Details
Purpose:
To assess the refractive outcome and topographic changes after implantation of incomplete (320) ring for refractive rehabilitation in keratoconus
Setting:
International Eye Hospital, Cairo, Egypt
Methods:
Ttwenty eyes (10 patients) suffering from keratoconus underwent femtosecond assisted ICRS implantation using Alcon /Wavelight FS200 femtosecond laser system.
Asphericity Q value was the main factor affecting ICRS thickness selection.
Pre and post operative refractive outcome and topographic changes were assessed.
Follow up mean was 6 months (3 to 12).
Results:
The procedure effectively improved the Q value, K readings, and the refractive error .The UDVA and CDVA are showing improvement in all cases with 0% of eyes lost any line.
Conclusions:
The femtosecond assisted 320 ICRS implantation seems to be effective and safe technique in managing moderate keratoconus cases.
