Abstract Details

Purpose:

To analyze the results with IPL in drye eye cases refractory to treatment.

Setting:

Instituto de la Vision- Buenos Aires, Argentina

Methods:

We analyzed 50 eyes of 25 patients. The age was 59.75 ± 20.44 years and the male /female ratio was 10/15. The follow-up was 4.37± 1.25 months. We evaluated preop and postop visual acuity (VA) and BUT. To evaluate the satisfaction we performed a questionnaire before and after complete the IPL sessions. We described the procedure and the programme of IPL sessions.

Results:

Preop BUT was 5.43 ± 1.67 seconds and postop BUT was 7.62 ± 1.45 seconds. Preop and postop VA was 0.78 ± 0.16 and 0.83 ± 0.12 respectively. Also, we describe the results about de questionnaire of satisfaction..

Conclusions:

IPL would be a very helpful technique to improve dry eye cases refractory totreatment.
