Abstract Details
Purpose:
The aim of the presentation is to evaluate the contribution of newly introduced image guided navigation systems during cataract surgery with implantation of toric intraocular lenses.
Setting:
Neovize Eye Clinic, Vinicni 235, Brno, Czech Republic
Methods:
Patient group consists of 100 eyes. Implanted intraocular lens type SN6ATx. Evaluation of the rotational orientation took place in two ways: by using a slit lamp and by image vector analysis.
Results:
Accuracy of implantation median = 2,00˚; SD = 2,66˚. Average surgically induced astigmatism (Average SIA)= 0.64 with SEM=0.13. Incision size was 2.5 mm.
Conclusions:
The use these systems leads to a nearly threefold higher precision of toric IOL implantation, which is very welcome especially for lenses with higher cylinder. The habit of surgeon and other support staff on this technology is fast and convenient.
