Abstract Details

Purpose:

Evaluation of safety and utility of the Device in the presented cases

Setting:

We present 4 cases of zonular diàlisis during surgery of 180 degrees or more that were treated in a second time with Ahmed segment to restore capsular bag stability

Methods:

We perform surgery investigating capsular bag stability and degree of zonular patency. Then install Ahmed segment in capsular bag and suture with prolene 10 zeros to the sclera. Then we implanted a one piece iol in the bag.

Results:

All 4 cases were completed succesfully. The iol were well centered and without complications.

Conclusions:

The Ahmed segment is useful and safe in cases with zonular dyalisis
