Abstract Details
Purpose:
Compare refractive outcomes after multifocal IOL implantation with intraoperative aberrometry with and without streaming refractive data (ORA with VerifEye and ORA, respectively).
Setting:
Multi-center data collected from global database of ophthalmologists using ORA.
Methods:
Data from multiple sites were compared, including 1,971 cases with standard intraoperative aberrometry and 1,267 cases using aberrometry with streaming refractive data.
Results:
The mean absolute value of prediction error was 0.3 ± 0.27 D for standard aberrometry and 0.28 ± 0.24 D for aberrometry with streaming data (p ˂ 0.03). The percentage of eyes ≤ 0.5 D was 83% in the standard aberrometry group vs. 85% in the streaming data group.
Conclusions:
Intraoperative aberrometry with streaming refractive data yielded better refractive results than standard aberrometry.
