Abstract Details

Purpose:

The study of the clinical efficiency in case of presbyopia correction

Setting:

The results in case of presbyopia treatment of 24 medical cases (47 eyes) by Laser blended vision were analysed, the follow-up being up to two years. The relevant study group was represented by 9 women and 15 men, the age being forty to fifty-five.

Methods:

The eye data was examined by visometry, tonometry, cycloscopy, pachymetry, keratorefraktometriya, keratotopography

Results:

The laser presbyopia treatment resulted in the near and distance visual acuity improvement in case of myopia, astigmatism, hypermetropia. Corrected acuity test showed the distance visual acuity improvement up to 0.8-1.0, the near distance visual acuity improvement up to 0.5-0.6 in 16 out of 24 cases (67%), and the distance visual acuity improvement up to 0.7 and the near distance visual acuity improvement up to 0.4 in 8 cases (33%) due to the original ambliopia

Conclusions:

: The Laser blended vision (LBV) promoted a high degree of visual acuity improvement in 67%. The method applied in case of presbyopia enabled high results, the patients not wearing spectacles anymore counts in favour of its efficiency.
