Abstract Details
Purpose:
Evaluation of safety and efficacy of ICL and Toric ICL in correction of refractive errors in patients had Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty surgery (DALK).
Setting:
Magrabi Eye Hospital, Jeddah , Saudi Arabia
Methods:
16 eyes of 16 consecutive patients had DALK surgery undergoing ICL and Toric ICL were retrospectively analyzed.
Results:
16 eyes, preop SEQ -6.63 ± 4.08 D° (range -14.75 to -1.00) reduced to -0.48 D ± 0.43 D° (range -1.50 to 0.25)1y, preop sphere was -5.65 ± 4.21 D° (range -14.50 to 0.50) reduced to mean 0.16 D ± 0.46 D° (range -0.50 to 1.25) after 1y, preop ref cyl -1.96 D ± 1.59 D° (range -5.00 to 0.00) reduced to -1.28 D ± 0.90 D° (range -3.00 to -0.25) at 1y. UCVA was 20/40 or better in 94%, refractive outcome 93% within ±1.00 diopter& a gain of at least 2 lines in 25% of eyes with no loss of BSCVA. ECC loss as compared with preoperatively was 9.8%±11.7% (n 12) and 1y postop.
Conclusions:
PC PIOLs was safe and effective in correction error of refraction after DALK.
