Abstract Details
Purpose:
Report results of optical zone (OZ) enlargement and recentration using topography-guided ablation (TGA).
Setting:
London Vision Clinic, London UK
Methods:
75 eyes needing OZ enlargement or recentration after myopic LASIK were included. Corneal topography, corneal wavefront and manifest refraction were used to create the TGA.
Results:
SEQ was -0.52±0.99D (-3.75 to +1.00D) preop and -0.26±0.49D (-1.88 to +0.88D) postop with 72% ±0.50D and 95% ±1.00D. Postop UDVA (vs preop CDVA) was ≤20/20 in 80% (91%) and ≤20/25 in 91% (92%). No eyes lost 2 lines CDVA, contrast sensitivity was normal and unchanged. Spherical aberration was reduced by 39% and HO RMS was reduced by 24%. Topography demonstrated OZ enlargement and reduction of decentration.
Conclusions:
TGA is an effective treatment for decentrations and OZ enlargement. Refractive accuracy was similar to standard LASIK.
