Purpose:
To evaluate Reverso piggy back multifocal intraocular lens simultaneous implantation with monofocal lens results in patients of the Department of Ophthalmology Medical University of Warsaw
Setting:
Department of Ophthalmology Medical University of Warsaw, Poland
Methods:
Retrospective analysis of 6 patients (12 eyes) at the age from 44 to 58 years (mean 47 years ) after cataract surgery with Reverso piggy back multifocal intraocular lens simultaneous implantation with monofocal lens were enrolled to the study. Following parameters were assessed :pre and postoperative NCVA and BCVA , total HOA, and postoperative “halo” symptom frequency.
Results:
Postoperatively in the follow-up period the following parameters were achieved: NCVA from 0.9 to 1.0; 100% eyes >0,9; . there were no halo simptoms.
Conclusions:
Reverso piggy back multifocal intraocular lens simultaneous implantation with monofocal lens is a safe and effective surgical procedure, which allows presbyopic patients to achieve a very good postoperative VA and entire spectacles independency for far, intermediate and near distance vision.
