Abstract Details
Purpose:
To investigate association between corneal biomechanical and tomographic analysis in myopic patients.
Setting:
Kasr Alainy School of Medicine, Cairo,Egypt
Methods:
Corneal hysteresis and corneal resistance factor were measured using the Ocular Response Analyser and Corneal tomographic analysis was obtained using Pentacam for right eye of 46 patients.
Results:
There is a positive correlation between CH, CRF and Pachy apex (P=0.0001, P<.0001) ,mean K reading (P=0.0023, P=0.0246) and CV ( P=.024, P=0.029). On the other hand, CH and CRF were negatively correlated with age, spherical equivalent, Q value, keratometric power deviation but not statistically significant and positively correlated with spherical aberrations, coma aberrations but not statistically significant.
Conclusions:
Positive correlation with CV and negative with KPD may give index for future diagnosis of keratoconus and keratoconus suspect so conducting a study on keratoconus and keratoconus suspect may give clue for diagnosis. FINANCIAL DISCLOUSRE: NONE
