Abstract Details
Purpose:
To report a case of uneventful femtosecond-assisted LASIK procedure in a patient with corneal stromal haze due to previous PRK.
Setting:
Vardinoyiannion Eye Institute of Crete (VEIC), Faculty of Medicine, University of Crete, Heraklion, Crete, Greece
Methods:
A patient with corneal stromal haze due to primary PRK underwent femtosecond laser assisted LASIK for the correction of hyperopic astigmatism.
Results:
Femtosecond laser-assisted flap creation was uneventful during the LASIK procedure, despite the corneal stromal haze. Femtosecond laser-assisted LASIK was performed with no intraoperative complications.
Conclusions:
Corneal stromal haze does not constitute an absolute contraindication for femtosecond-assisted LASIK. FINANCIAL DISCLOUSRE: NONE
