Traction retinal detachment with macular packer after bilateral phacoemulsification

Abstract Details
Purpose:
To show case developed TR-RD with severe macular packer after bilateral phacoemulsification
Setting:
MAGRABI Eye Hospital
Nabil Taresh (Ph.D),Mahfouth Bamashmus ( FRCS), Basma Al-refai (MSc) ,Fahmi Moghram(MSc).
Methods:
Man 65years old no history of systemic diseases ,all ophthalmic examination done before operation (visual acuity , intraocular pressure and B- Scan )and fundus examination with dilated puple
Results:
OCT show CME in both eye after 1 month operation .
After two month OCT show macular packer with proliferative vitreoretinopathy .
B – scan reveal traction retinal detachment in the right eye .
Pars plana vitreoctomy done fore right eye with removal eperetinal membrane and internal limiting membrane.
Intraoperatively fundus exam no hole detected .
Conclusions:
It is rare to see tractional retinal detachment after phacoemulsification in patient without any systemic diseases. FINANCIAL DISCLOUSRE: NONE
