Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate safety and efficacy of SMILE on follow up for high myopia more than -10 D.
Setting:
Roaya vision center
Methods:
Prospective non comparative case series carried out on 436 eyes of 264 myopic patients of errors more than 10D treated with femtosecond laser SMILE. Uuncorrected visual acuity (UCVA),
best spectacle corrected visual acuity (BSCVA), manifest refraction and contrast sensitivity were measured in all cases.
Results:
: Mean preoperative UCVA, BSCVA and spherical equivalents were 0.05 ,0.67 and -12.93 respectively. Mean postoperative UCVA, BSCVA, spherical equivalent were 0.78,0.86 and -0.83 respectively. A few operative and postoperative complications were reported in our case series.
Conclusions:
SMILE is a safe and effective procedure with long term refractive stability.
