Abstract Details

Purpose:

Analysis of the results of refractive lensectomy (RLE) with implantation of the Panoptix Toric IOL (Alcon) in patients with mild amblyopia with various ametropias.

Setting:

Сenter of Eye Microsurgery VOKA, Minsk, Belarus

Methods:

15 cases were monitored after RLE with implantation of Panoptix Toric IOL at the age of 51.5 ± 8.14 years. There were 7 cases of high myopia and myopic astigmatism, 8 cases of moderate and high hyperopia and hyperopic astigmatism . Uncorrected visual acuity (VA) before surgery 0.1 ± 0.07, best corrected VA 0.62 ± 0.11, refraction sph -2.58 ± 6.28 min 7.0 D / max -11.25D; cyl - 0.38 ± 2.316 min 3.5 D / max -3.75D; corneal astigmatism: -1.98 ± 1.03; axial length 24.27 ± 2.92 mm min 20.41mm / max 29.16 mm. TFNT20-TFNT60 were implanted.

Results:

In 6 months after surgery uncorrected VA significantly exceeded the level of best corrected VA before surgery. The following results were obtained after the surgery: uncorrected distance VA 0.75 ± 0.25, near VA 0.85 ± 0.15, middle distance VA 0.65 ± 0.55, refraction sph 0.15 ± 0.21; cyl 0.75 ± 0.25.

Conclusions:

A retrospective analysis of the refractive replacement of a clear crystalline lens with an intraocular Panoptix Toric (Alcon) lens with various types of ametropias and mild amblyopia showed an improvement in visual function compared with preoperative uncorrected and corrected VA at three focal distances.
