Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate the calculation accuracy of the trifocal IOL according to 7 formulas in patients who received emmetropic refraction and high visual acuity.
Setting:
S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
Methods:
The study included 41 patients (51 eyes) who received emmetropic refraction and high visual acuity (Distance Visual Acuity was not lower than 0.8 (LogMar 0.1), Near Visual Acuity not less than 0.7 (LogMar 0.18)) 6 months after FLACS with implantation of a trifocal IOL (PanOptix). IOL calculation was performed according to 7 formulas for each patient: Haigis, Hoffer Q, Holladay 1, SRK / T, Barrett II universal, Olson and Holladay II.
Results:
The calculated value (ME, MAE) significantly closest to the emmetropic refraction was received by the Olson (-0.31, 0.42), Haigis (-0.38, 0.39) and Barret II formulas (-0.40, 0.45), compared to the Holladay II (-0.67, 0.67), HofferQ (-0.52, 0.53), Holladay I (-0.61, 0.61), SRK / T (-0.47, 0.48) formulas (p <0.05).
Conclusions:
When calculating a trifocal IOL PanOptix, the most accurate results were obtained using the Olson, Haigis and Barret II formulas.
