Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate the intrasession repeatability for NIBUT measurements provided by a new automated Dry Eye platform in healthy eyes.
Setting:
Optometric Clinic, University of Alicante, Spain.
Methods:
A total of 20 healthy eyes of 20 patients (age, 23-65 years) were enrolled. A complete eye examination was performed in all cases with the Visionix VX120+ device, including an analysis with the new Dry Eye platform performing three consequtive measurements. Differences between repeated measures were assessed. The intrasubject standard deviation (Sw), precision (Pr) and Intraclass Correlation Coheficient (ICC) were obtained to assess repeatability between measurements.
Results:
No statistically significant differences were found between measures for NIBUT (p>0.05), but there were for NIBUT50% (p 0.001). Mean Intrasubject standard deviation of NIBUT and NIBUT50, was 0.9 and 1.4 seconds with a mean Precision of 1.7 and 2.8 seconds, respectively. ICC was 0.516 for NIBUT and 0.881 for NIBUT50.
Conclusions:
The new Dry Eye platform of Visionix VX120+ device provides objective automated measure of NIBUT with an acceptable repeatability for clinical screening measures.
