Abstract Details
Purpose:
This study aimed to compare anterior chamber depth (ACD) and iridocorneal angle (ICA) measurements between Pentacam and Cirrus optical coherence tomography (OCT) in normal subjects.
Setting:
Prospective, cross-sectional study
Methods:
In this study,40 eyes of 40 patients with a mean axial length of 21.45±1.22 mm were analyzed. The ACD and ICA measurements was obtained sequentially by using both anterior segment module of the Cirrus OCT and Pentacam. The ACD was defined as the axial length between the central corneal epithelium and the anterior central surface of the crystalline lens. ICA was defined as the angle between posterior surface of the cornea and the anterior surface of the iris.Paired t-tests and intraclass correlation coefficients(ICCs) were used to assess the difference between ACD and ICA measurements as measured by the two devices.
Results:
Mean ACD measurements for all 40 subjects were 3.34 ± 0.66 μm using Pentacam and 3.27 ± 0.60 μm using Cirrus OCT, with an inter-device ICC of 0.851. Mean ICA measurements were 41.55 ± 6.69 º using Pentacam and 41.50 ± 6.47 º using Cirrus OCT, and with the ICC of 0.964 (p=0.211).The differences between the measurements of the two devices were not statistically significant (p=0.211 for ACD, p=0.86 for ICA).
Conclusions:
Both devices easily measure ACD and ICA in the same values.
