Abstract Details
Purpose:
To report 3 cases with previous LASIK surgery presented with flap interface edema after intraocular surgery.
Setting:
Vissum Miranza, Alicante, Spain
Methods:
3 eyes of 2 patients with previous LASIK surgery, 1 eye implanted by multifocal IOL and 2 eyes with iris prosthesis, the 3 eyes developed interface flap edema; 2 eyes due to high intraocular pressure and 1 eye due to chronic endothelial cell failure. Edema persists even after control of high IOP.
We used the high resolution anterior segment OCT to determine the corneal thickness and show the interface flap edema which is difficult to be seen by the slit lamp. And also used for follow up after management.
Results:
After control of intraocular pressure, the 3 cases were managed by DMEK surgery with total resolution of the edema clinically and by OCT.
Conclusions:
The high resolution AS-OCT gives critical information about the presence of interface edema in totally edematous cornea and gives a great help to see the evolution of the cases before and after management.
