Abstract Details
Purpose:
to evaluate the efficiency of different farmacological treatment in routine cataract extraction
Setting:
Eye Clinic Excimer
Methods:
Methods: 93 patients (112 eyes) 73,4±4,3 age, undergo non-complicated cataract extraction, without any ocular comorbidity. The evaluation included functional results, postop clinical period and macular status in preop,1, 4 and 6 weeks period. We used Optovue tomograph in 3D difference and retina map mode. There were 3 groups. In 1st we used only 0,1% dexamathazone. In 2nd 0,1% dexamathazone and 0,1% nepafenac . 3rd group included 0,1% dexamathazone and 0,09% bromfenac in postop period.
Results:
groups with extra non-steroid drops achieved higher level of VA than 1st group. IOP in 1st group was statistically higher than in 2,3rd ones. Subclinical macular edema was registered in 23 patients in 1st group and 13; 11 patients in 2nd and 3rd groups.
Conclusions:
1. In farmacological assistance for patients after routine cataract extraction the combination of steroid and non-stretoid antiflammatory drops should be used for antiflammatory effect potention.
2 The combination of steroid and non-steroid drops provides higher visual acuity, iop stability and prevents macular zone volume and widths increase.
3. Nepafenac 0.1% and bromfenac 0.09% provide high antiflammatory activity, preventing subclinical and clinical macular edema.
4. There is no clinical scenario difference between 3 times nepafenac 0.1% and 2 times bromfenac 0.09% instillation.
