Abstract Details
Purpose:
To describe demographics and refractive and visual outcomes of Artisan lens, and to compare astigmatic effect of corneal versus scleral incision
Setting:
University hospital of Derby
Methods:
Retrospective review of all cases identified through theater logs from March 2017 to January 2020
Results:
60 eyes were identified
Main indications identified were primary subluxation of lens or IOL, and complicated cataract surgery
Visual improvement mean was 39 ETDRS letters
There was no significant difference between the type of incision and the refractive outcome once sutures were removed
Complications included IOP rise in 10% and CMO in 10%
Conclusions:
Artisan is a safe lens for treatment of Aphakia
