Abstract Details
Purpose:
To describe the course of central toxic keratopathy (CTK) with its management in two cases who had undergone Femto LASIK
Setting:
Isha Netralaya, Kalyan, India
Report of Case:
Two cases post femto LASIK (Case 1: 32 years/ male, Case 2: 33 years/ male) came for the post LASIK follow up on post op day 3 with both complaining of pain, and blurring of vision. The initial clinical presentation led us to a diagnosis of DLK and patients were prescribed with topical steroids however we realized that condition is not responding to steroids. Later based on clinical features the diagnosis of CTK was made. In both the cases, involvement was bilateral and followed the similar pattern. The course of the disease was evaluated using slit lamp biomicroscopy and corresponding OCT image post operatively 1, 3, 6 day and at 1 and 6 months and managed successfully with medical treatment.
Conclusion/Take Home Message:
Clinical presentation of CTK is ambiguous and early diagnosis is important. There is no specific treatment protocol available for managing CTK however a careful observation using multimodal imaging with heavy load lubrication could help resolves the condition.
